You would need the following to begin replacing your sump pump:

• Pliers 
• Level
• Tubing Cutter
• Shims
• Sump Pump
• Discharge Pipe

Do the following things once you have the required materials in hand. 

1. Remove the old pump

Unplug the sump pump and disconnect the discharge pipe entering it.

2. Remove the pump

Now carefully remove the pump. and clean the insides of the housing unit.

3.Level the new pump

Use the level to level the new pump. Be sure that the newpump is sitting perfectly in the housing unit. Use the required shims to level it if needed.

4.Connect the discharge line

We recommend using the new discharge line. However, if you feel that your older discharge line is working fine then you may use it also. Make sure that the check valve is working fine. A check valve will help keep your premises from getting flooded if things fail in the future.

Now connect the outlet pipe to the main discharge unit. Slipping all the rubber components in place.

5. Plug in the power

Its all done just plug in the socket into power supply and check whether your new pump us working as intended or not.
